SMS PREMIUM – Short Codes

The text messagin SMS (Short Message Service) PREMIUM are short codes used to bill contents or services to mobile users through a mobile originated (MO) short message sent to their mobile phone operator.

Nowadays, this system has become an excellent business opportunity, since cell phone interaction with an automated system is being commercially exploited for the delivery of information at a Premium rate, thereby turning this service into an excellent source of income.

Present system can be used in many ways to the benefit of your company: Sending and receiving information, for surveys and poll straws, carrying out contests, and more. All these options pose an authentic and innovating source of communication and income, because their success lies on the options offered to users to obtain all the information they require, using an expeditious and comfortable way, available 24 hours a day.

Messages are sent and received by you through our HTTP (with an URL) or SMPP API.

Activities performed by M-Lat:

• Arrange and enable numbers with the various phone operators. The assigning of numbers will depend on the phone operators (if number requested is available). Generally, the assignment of shared short codes takes 2-4 weeks and dedicated short codes 4-8 weeks.
• Design web page, create login and password for each associate to enable them to verify the reports of SMS PREMIUM services.
• Design any programs the service may require, to ensure its quality and smooth functionality.
• Design a program to update information in the intranet, for those services requiring so, to be able to offer its content to potential clients (system users). Additionally, users will be able to review the answers &/or comments sent by the system. This information will be displayed with its absolute value, in percentages obtained on each of the answer options.
• Process the billing of the service, in accordance with conditions agreed in contracts subscribed with the various phone operators in each country.
• Liquidate payment process to our client on a monthly basis as per the distribution scheme mutually agreed between client and M-Lat.
• Provide a help desk to solve any client complaints.
• Analyze and negotiate the uncollectable calls factor, which is to be agreed between M-Lat and its clients.
• Continuous analysis of results services based on an exchange with the individuals designated by clients in this area.

Activities performed by client:

• Indicate the bases and structures of services to enable M-Lat to carry out their configuration.
• Provide database to M-Lat if service structure requires so.
• Carry out services information and promotion campaign through clients’ broadcasting schedule or any other means they deem suitable.
• Decide the price to be charged to the mobile user for the short code SMS PREMIUM service, and the price for sending MO messages or when receiving an MT message, preferably both if possible.

Applications we can develop:

• Contents: This is an interactive application to generate any contents that the client may wish to offer its clients, i.e., news headlines, horoscopes, classified ads, lottery and horse betting information, among others. We design a program through which you can update your information whenever you wish.
• Surveys: We can design a program whereby user may answer open or closed questions with a specific number of options as answers (minimum 2, maximum 5). Several questions can be handled under the same program provided there are multiple answer options.
• Comments: Users send their opinions, congratulations, greetings, inquiries, requirements, etc.
• Contests: We design an automated program to produce one or more winners. Contests can be done using the modality of contests, trivia or simply sending any comment (most used lately by the radio stations). We design a program so that the program user will be able to answer several questions, accumulate points depending on answers and obtain his/her position in relation to the other contestants.

Financial Scheme:

The price-fixing model includes a connection charge, a monthly base charge and a traffic scale. All these variables and the time mobile operators take in making payments for the SMS PREMIUM service will depend on the country where the short code will be hired.

M-Lat receives payment from the phone operators for services invoiced to SMS PREMIUM users, after deductions set forth under the billing services contracts. Net balance is distributed between M-Lat and the client, in accordance to the agreement to be defined, and which is negotiated and depends on the expenses, resources and investment corresponding to each of the parties for the execution of the services in the country where the service will be hired.

The resulting balances will be paid within fifteen (15) working days counted from the date shown in receipt of payment received by cashiers at M-Lat.

It is important to mention that first payment will be made after the phone companies invoicing and billing cycle is completed and which is estimated to take 90 days, from the first cycle of invoicing, and normalizes to a monthly basis after first payment is made.
